Notes: This folk art piece of the Risen Christ exudes the joy of transformative divine love. It depicts the peaceful, loving Face of Christ, His large eyes gazing forward at the beholder. His wounded hands frame His Sacred Heart, the right hand signing, with two fingers, humanity and divinity. His glorious Sacred Heart is radiant in gold leaf. Christ is robed in red and white gold-trimmed garments symbolizing His Passion and Resurrection. His head is encircled by a halo-wreath made of laurels and Monarch butterflies. In Christian tradition, the butterfly is a symbol of spiritual transformation. The background is ombre in graduated shades of sparkling blues and beiges, stenciled with cross shapes.
Inspiration: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old one has passed away; behold the new has come."- 2 Corinthians 5:17
